Job Description: Cooking Camp Teacher Part-time
Poway Summer Camp
Are you energetic and passionate about cooking? Poway Summer Camp is looking for a few enthusiastic individuals to assist with our Kids Cooking Camp this summer. Join us to help inspire young chefs across three different age groups!
Camp Details
· Camp Duration: June 8th to August 12th
· Camp Sessions: Morning session from 9 AM to 12 PM, Afternoon session from 1 PM to 4 PM
· Age Groups:
· Ages 6-9
· Ages 10-17
Job Responsibilities
As a Camp Chef, you will:
· The teacher/chef with daily camp activities
and work with an assistant chef
· Ensure all food needed for the day, cooking equipment and tools are set out.
· Setup the classroom or kitchen for the day
· Interact with the primary kitchen as needed
· Help with camper registration, getting aprons on, and handwashing
· Support the chef to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment
· Maintain cleanliness by washing dishes, cleaning tables, and floors
· Prepare and dismantle the washing station
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
The ideal candidate should:
· Have basic knowledge of cooking and baking skills
· Possess a positive outlook and enjoy working with kids
· Understand how to read and follow recipes
· Be a role model and encourage creativity in cooking
· Be flexible and reliable
Additional Skills
Experience with the following skills is beneficial:
· Using small kitchen appliances, tools, and knives
· Able to lift up to 30 lbs
· Good communication skills
Job Compensation
· Type: Summer Part-time job with potential future opportunities
· Hourly Rate: $20.00 to $ 25.00, depending on experience and job skills
. Work: 4 to 5 hrs per day 5 days a week w/ some weeks 8 h1,00rs per day on the 5 weeks we have afternoon camp
