What are the responsibilities and job description for the Santa Claus Performer position at Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission?
It's almost the most wonderful time of the year at the Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission! We are seeking a festive, professional Santa to deliver the magic this upcoming holiday season at the Holiday Festival of Lights.
You'll be a great Santa with these items checked twice on your list: being nice, jolly, friendly, pleasant, comfortable with interacting with a wide variety of people and pets, have the ability to take direction from supervisors and work well with others. Real beards are preferred but not required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communicate with customers and staff
- Work as a team with professional photographer
- Be on time and work scheduled shifts as assigned
- Be able to sit for extended hours
- Be able to assist children onto your leg for photo opportunities
- Be aware and able to work in inclement weather conditions
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to provide outstanding customer service to our visitors
- Ability to function outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with customers and employees
- Maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test
Working Conditions and Physical Abilities:
- Physical demands are in of excess of those of sedentary work; work involves sitting, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, balancing, ect.
- Must be able to lift and /or carry weights of up to 40lbs.
- Must be able to constantly lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Work is a of an outdoor nature.
- Must possess a clear speaking voice and the ability to communicate.
- This position is sometime stressful due to the high volume of public contact.
- This position requires a professional demeanor and an orientation towards customer service.
