Facilities Maintenance Worker
Summary:
The School Facilities Maintenance Worker helps the team keep the school’s buildings and grounds safe, clean, and fully operational for students, staff, and visitors. This role performs a variety of maintenance, repair, custodial, and landscaping duties to ensure a well-maintained learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general repairs and maintenance on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and equipment.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on systems and small motors.
- Maintain indoor and outdoor areas, including landscaping, painting, and basic custodial work.
- Inspect facilities for safety and operational issues, responding promptly to maintenance needs.
- Set up and take down furniture and equipment for events and activities.
- Assist with deliveries, safety checks, and traffic control during student drop-off/pick-up.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in building maintenance or similar role (school setting preferred).
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and small engine repair.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Must pass a SC State DSS background check.
Schedule:
7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Mon- Fri, with flexibility for events and coverage needs.
