The daily rates for substitute teachers are $125.00 a day for short-term and $197.25 a day for long-term.
Requirements
All substitutes are required to have a Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) issued substitute teaching certificate. If you do not already have this certificate, we will help guide you through the process.
A Substitute Certificate requires 36 semester hours of credit from a regionally accredited college or university. Verification of these hours must be provided with an original transcript to DESE from each institution the applicant has attended.

If you do not have 36 semester college hours, a Substitute Certificate may also be granted to an individual who has successfully completed a minimum of twenty (20) clock hours of department-approved substitute teacher training.
