What are the responsibilities and job description for the Athletic Training Internship position at Charleston Battery?
Charleston Battery is looking for an Athletic Training student who is interested in working in the
field of professional soccer. This individual will be working under the direction of the Head
Athletic Trainer and be responsible for assisting with the daily sports medicine duties. This is an
in-person position that may start as early as February and end as late as November.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with training setup and break down
- Assist with getting athletes prepared for training session
- Assist with any ongoing treatments and rehabilitations
- Assist with therapeutic modalities
- Assist with providing hydration during training sessions
- Assist with injury evaluation and management during training sessions
- Assist with emergency situations that may occur during training sessions
Qualifications:
- Must be CPR/First Aid Certified
- Must be enrolled and in good standing with an accredited college athletic training education program
- Must have prior on-field student athletic training experience
- Be familiar with different types of therapeutic modalities
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must work well in a high paced team environment
Requirements:
- Willingness and ability to work long hours, including early mornings, late nights and weekends throughout the duration of the season
- Ability to arrange personal housing and transportation at own expense
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time in adverse weather conditions, including rain, cold, and heat
- Ability to interact professionally with office staff, coaching staff, medical staff, and players
- Ability to take direction from head athletic trainer, coaching staff, office staff and owner
- Must be eligible to receive college credit
