Job Summary

Tri hospital responsibility for daily operations of the Clinical Resource Department. Develop, implement and monitor compliance to unit operating budget. Develops, implements, monitors programs that will support system goals and needs in regards to human resources/manpower. Serve as mentor by role modeling a professional practice consistent with organizational goals, customer service, clinical effectiveness, and standards of care. Develops supplemental support processes in collaboration with the associate Administrators and Vice Presidents for institutional wide initiatives. Serves as consultant to department managers as it relates to staffing for RNs, LPNs, HUCs, NAs, NEs across Memorial, General and Women and Children Hospitals.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for the selection and retention of high performance work teams according to division/system goals.

• Orient new employees, ensuring competencies through the use of testing, audits and skills lab.

• Organize and plan the orientation process for new employees. Identify preceptor and unit rotations.

• Identify skill set required for new employees to work tri hospital. Creates and maintains an effective staffing plan and provides opportunities for flexible scheduling.

• Assign and deploy staff tri hospital for each shift 24/7 365 days a year. Daily communication with requesting departments and verify staffing needs.

• Identify staff educational needs and provide developmental opportunities.

• Ensure competency of staff through feedback and annual evaluations with input from appropriate team members, and departments.

• Identify and implement reward and recognition activities for motivating and retaining team members.

• Orchestrate change to improve clinical and organizational outcomes.

• Demonstrate the ability to apply a varied leadership style based upon the individuality of team members through participative management.

• Collaborate with Nurse Managers to identify departmental skill set required for CRD staff.

• Collaborate with Nurse Managers to identify staffing strategies with utilization of pre assigned Clinical Resource Staff.

• Collaborate with Professionally Nursing, Senior Administrative Leaders and Nurse Managers when decrease staffing levels exceed Clinical Resource ability to meet needs.

• Integrate continual performance improvement into the structure and processes of the department and the daily practice of multidisciplinary teams to achieve desired clinical and fiscal outcomes.

• Promote clinical excellence through applied clinical knowledge, leadership, team recommendations and research utilization.

• Prepare and comply with annual operating and capital budgets based on analysis of clinical goals and established standards.

• Interpret and utilize financial reports to control the financial performance and productivity of department(s) within defined fiscal parameters.

• Monitor and develop report for tracking nursing departments requested hours and distribution of the Clinical Resource Staff hours met to Senior Administrative Leaders weekly.

• Monitor and report volume of requests for each nursing units and report out to Senior Administrative Leadership.

The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department’s identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients.

Competency Statement

Must demonstrate competency through an initial orientation and ongoing competency validation to independently perform tasks and additional duties as specified in the job description and the unit/department specific competency checklist.

8. Follow organizational and departmental policies and procedures, as applicable.
9. Perform related duties as assigned.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree (Required) Experience: 2 years in Leadership or Management 5 - 7 years Nursing
