JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Middle School Game Manager (Stipend Position)
RESPONSIBLE TO: Principal and/or Assistant Principal
POSITION SUMMARY: The Middle School Game Manager is a stipend-based, event-focused role responsible for coordinating and supervising middle school athletic events and related logistics. This position supports school administration by ensuring safe, organized, and compliant athletic events.
MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Event Operations & Supervision
- Open, supervise, and close assigned athletic events
- Serve as administrator designee during events
- Coordinate event setup
- Ensure required game personnel are present
Game Day Coordination
- Serve as liaison between visiting teams, officials, and staff
- Support hospitality for visitors
- Oversee ticket procedures and event flow
Safety & Compliance
- Assist with event security coordination
- Monitor compliance with rules and expectations
- Report incidents to administration
Communication & Reporting
- Keep current with WVSSAC regulations and communicate with administration regarding WVSSAC requirements
- Communicate event needs/issues in advance
- Submit brief post-event reports
- Coordinate with coaches
Scheduling & Logistics
- Assist with confirming schedules for home events
- Assist with verifying officials are secured
- Coordinate facility use for games

Employed with Jefferson County Schools; WVDE certified employee (teacher, administrator, coach, or paraprofessional); demonstrates organizational, communication, and supervisory skills. Due to game day responsibilities and conflicting schedules, the game manager cannot also hold a middle school coaching position.
