Server Assistant

Job Descriptions

Serve guests water upon their arrival, and provide refills as needed. Remove used tableware between courses; clear and reset tables after guests leave.

Activities & Responsibilities: 

Primary

We do this through providing superior quality food and beverages, legendary customer service, sales growth, cost controls and treating our employees like family.

·       Promptly greet guests as they are seated with water (check with server to see if bottled water has been upsold to table.)

·       Remove used tableware between courses and provide tableware for next course.

·       Clear tables after guests.

·       Between seating, promptly clean tabletops, chairs and booths. Check floor and clean as required. Reset and arrange tabletop.

·       Take soiled tableware to dish room and unload, sort and stack silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in designated areas in the soiled dish drop off area.

·       Perform serving, cleaning, or stocking duties to facilitate customer service.

·       Respond appropriately to guest requests and communicate guest requests to server as needed.

·       Communicate with server and host or hostess to expedite efficient seating, table utilization, and customer service.

·       Assist server as needed with food delivery, especially with large parties and during peak periods.

·       Thank guests as they are leaving

·       Carry food, dishes, trays, or silverware from kitchens or supply areas to serving counters.

·       Clean up spilled food or drink or broken dishes and remove trash.

·       Maintain adequate supplies of items such as clean linens, silverware, glassware, dishes, or trays.

·       Inspect assigned restroom every 20 minutes, and clean as needed.

·       Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement.

·       Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurant.

·       Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.

Qualifications: 

·       Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests.

·       No previous restaurant experience required.

·       Be able to lift, reach, bend, and stoop.

·       Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).

·       Must have the ability to multi-task.

·       Develop competent and agreeable work ethic.

·       Interact with all guests and employees with respect, professional pleasantries, and courtesies.

·       Embrace supervisory directions.

·       Maintain a positive attitude and a commitment to professional growth and personal development.
