Charles Schwab’s Operational Services team is partnering with our Digital Assets team to expand our retail product offering to include spot cryptocurrency trading for retail clients. This new offering will complement Schwab’s extensive range of brokerage and banking products and plays a critical role in maintaining our position as a leading financial services firm—providing accessibility and award‑winning education on emerging products and services.

Within Operational Services, the Crypto Operations Team supports the operational requirements of the spot cryptocurrency offering, including oversight and execution related to account enrollment, trading, transfers and money movements, reconciliations and corrections, and reporting.

What You’ll Do

As a Senior Manager on the Crypto Operations Team, you will lead a team responsible for the day‑to‑day operational execution that enables Schwab’s crypto offering. This role balances people leadership with operational oversight, cross‑functional partnership, and continuous improvement in a fast‑evolving environment.

Reporting to the Director, Crypto Operations, you will be responsible for:

• Leading, coaching, and developing a team of operations professionals supporting crypto‑related activities, including account onboarding, trading, transfers, deposits, withdrawals, reconciliations, and related processes.
• Overseeing day‑to‑day operations to ensure timely, accurate, and controlled transaction processing while meeting service‑level expectations in a 24/7 operating environment.
• Establishing clear priorities, workflows, and performance expectations, balancing volume demands with risk management and quality outcomes.
• Partnering closely with cross‑functional stakeholders (Risk, Technology, Compliance, Client Service, Product, and Legal) to resolve complex operational issues, drive root‑cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.
• Serving as an escalation point for operational issues, exceptions, and risk alerts; ensure appropriate investigation, documentation, and resolution.
• Driving continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, controls, technology, and the client experience—aligned to Schwab’s “through the client’s eyes” strategy.
• Acting as a subject‑matter leader in crypto operations, staying informed on changes in the digital asset landscape and assessing impacts to people, processes, and controls.
• Supporting a strong risk and control environment, reinforcing adherence to policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to fraud prevention, transaction monitoring, and compliance.
  
  

What you have

To ensure we fulfill our promise of challenging the status quo, this role has specific qualifications that successful candidates should have.

Required Qualifications

• Prior experience leading, coaching, or providing day‑to‑day oversight of others
• Prior experience with coin and fiat settlement flows across external trading venues, including reconciliation, break resolution, and counterparty coordination
• Prior experience with end-to-end reconciliation and break resolution across trading, custody, and settlement workflows
• Prior experience with crypto custody frameworks and asset control policies (segregation, wallet governance)
• Experience overseeing operational procedures and process controls, ensuring documentation accuracy and audit-ready execution
• Willingness to manage and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, including non‑standard hours, evenings, and weekends as business needs require
• Strong prior experience with cryptocurrency operations.

• Strong interest in digital assets, tokenization and emerging financial technologies
• Demonstrated problem‑solving and decision‑making skills, including managing ambiguity and competing priorities
• Experience driving process improvements and operational efficiencies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams and levels
