Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Animal Technician I to join our Insourcing Solutions team in Hamilton, MT.

As the Laboratory Animal Technician I, you will use existing SOPs and quality assurance standards to successfully work in ABSL 2-4 facility environments performing a variety of duties, including daily animal health observations.

Additional Responsibilities Include

  • Basic animal husbandry tasks, including accurate record-keeping of animal breeding, health, and support areas.
  • Receive, inspect, and put away incoming animals
  • Assist with restraint, handling, and manipulation of various animal species
  • Strictly maintaining and following breeding and weaning procedures
  • Equipment operation and general housekeeping
  • Ability to identify sick animals and provide medical treatments as prescribed
  • Basic knowledge of technical animal injection skills (IP, IM and IV injections, orbital sinus bleeds, tail vein injections and cardiac bleeds) on mice, rats, rabbits and other species.

Job Qualifications

The following are minimum requirements related to the Laboratory Animal Technician I position:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years’ experience in a laboratory animal facility performing animal husbandry and clinical support
  • Current ALAT certification, with the drive to become LAT certified within six months of eligibility.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.

The pay range for this position is $25.50/hour.
