Industrial Parts Road Salesman

Responsibilities
- Sales and customer relations:
- Visit assigned customers on a regular basis to build and maintain strong relationships.
- Prospect for new customers to expand the customer base.
- Understand customer needs and recommend suitable industrial parts and accessories.
- Negotiate contracts and close sales deals.
- Provide product demonstrations or tutorials.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve problems related to products in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Order management and delivery:
- Process orders accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate with the warehouse or inventory team to ensure timely delivery.
- Ensure on-time delivery and that orders are correct.
- Communicate with counter people or parts managers about order status, including stock or emergency needs.
- Territory management:
- Manage and maintain a specific sales territory.
- Daily visits accounts in the sales territory
- Update customer records and add new customers to mailing lists.
- Track sales activity and evaluate sales performance.
- Administrative duties:
- Turn in completed call reports, time sheets, and expense reports.
- Ensure accuracy of inventory records.
- Follow up on orders to ensure customers have been served properly.
Qualifications
- Education and experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; degree is often preferred.
- Proven experience in sales or customer service, preferably in the automotive or industrial parts sector.
- Skills and abilities:
- Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to understand technical product information.
