Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks with manual transmission across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual lifting techniques, ensuring items are secured properly for transit.
- Deliver goods promptly to various locations, providing excellent customer service by assisting with product placement and answering client questions.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety standards are met; report any maintenance issues immediately.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and delivery records to ensure smooth operations and accountability.
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as inventory management, moving stock within the facility, and preparing shipments for delivery.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members to coordinate routes, schedules, and address any delivery challenges.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with experience in commercial driving or courier services; a
driver certification is a plus. - Proven delivery driver experience with familiarity in route driving, load & unload procedures, and customer service interactions.
- Ability to lift heavy items regularly and perform physical tasks involving heavy lifting or moving cargo.
- Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other warehouse equipment is preferred but not mandatory; training can be provided.
- Strong driving skills with knowledge of safety protocols for manual transmission vehicles; clean driving record required.
- Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members.
