Senior Accountant

We are looking for a talented Senior Accountant for our client in the east metro of the Twin Cities, MN. This position is hybrid and has regular weekly hours in an office.

The right candidate must have a four year degree. Candidates will need strong general ledger reconciliation, Microsoft Excel and month-end close experience to be successful in this position. You should also enjoy supporting and leading process improvements in the accounting area.

Job Duties:

• Prepare journal entries and review for inconsistencies
• Support the monthly close, meeting deadlines where applicable
• Prepare monthly and quarterly accounting reports
• Perform variance and profitability analysis
• Reconcile multiple general ledgers, consolidate when appropriate
• Maintain and review the general ledger and reconcile balance sheets
• Planning, studying, and collecting data to determine
• Analyzing data for accuracy and correctness while continuously looking for opportunities to improve processes and reduce costs
• Other duties as needed or assigned

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting excluding including 2 years experience with monthly close over the whole P&L.
• Possess a natural curiosity for how the accounting process works and could be improved
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field
• A history of commitment to past companies
• Excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of GAAP
• Strong Excel skill, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPS
• Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports
