Charles County Surgical Arts is seeking a professional, organized, and patient-focused Treatment Plan Coordinator to join our oral and maxillofacial surgery team.
The Treatment Plan Coordinator plays an essential role in guiding patients from consultation through surgery. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, confidence discussing treatment costs and financial arrangements, and a commitment to providing an exceptional patient experience.
Medical or dental experience is preferred; however, candidates with strong healthcare administrative, financial, or customer service experience are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Present and review surgical treatment plans with patients
- Explain treatment fees, estimated insurance benefits, and patient financial responsibility
- Collect deposits, copayments, deductibles, and outstanding balances
- Discuss available payment and financing options
- Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures
- Verify dental and medical insurance benefits
- Obtain insurance pre-authorizations and predeterminations when necessary
- Follow up with patients who have not scheduled recommended treatment
- Maintain accurate documentation of treatment and financial discussions
- Communicate effectively with doctors, clinical staff, insurance companies, and referring offices
- Assist patients with treatment, insurance, scheduling, and financial questions
- Monitor treatment-plan acceptance and follow-up opportunities
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements
Qualifications
- Medical or dental office experience preferred
- Oral surgery experience is a plus, but not required
- Experience with dental or medical insurance preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable discussing treatment costs and collecting payments
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Professional and compassionate approach to patient care
- Strong computer and administrative skills
