Production Team Lead

Charles & Alice is a leading international processor and co-packer of applesauce and other natural fruit-based products. We are seeking to hire an Operations Team Lead for our second shift at our US headquarters and food manufacturing plant in Lancaster, PA. Core hours are Monday to Friday 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm. Flexibility required.

Operations Team Leads perform a variety of leadership and production support duties in addition to performing the Machine Operator duties, including:

• Conducting pre-shift meetings with production personnel as needed;
• Conducting or participating in leadership meetings as needed;
• Scheduling of personnel on the production lines;
• Completing end of shift production reports and distributing through email;
• Completing QA and Production paperwork accurately;
• Relieve all production areas as needed;
• Completing continuous improvement projects;
• Identify cost saving projects and initiatives;
• Completing Root Cause Analysis using our internal Problem Solving Method and 5 Whys;
• Overseeing Ok Start program completion;
• Overseeing the 5S housekeeping program;
• Perform QA Facility audits as needed;
• Complete daily line checks on key quality and production points;
• Scheduling and completing cleaning tasks as needed
• Oversee rework tasks as needed;
• Train and coach Team Members; and
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Machine Operator Duties include the following:

· Operating food processing and packaging equipment in part by using computer interfaces;

· Performing quality checks; and

· Troubleshooting equipment issues.

The qualifications for this position include:

· Prior leadership experience;

· Excellent communication and team building skills;

· Machine operator experience, in a food manufacturing industry;

· High attention to detail,

· Basic math skills;

· Excellent attendance record;

· Ability to read, write, and understand English;

· Ability to stand the entire shift and be able to bend, lift, push, and pull up to 60 pounds.
