Responsibilities
- Create a safe and welcoming environment by supervising children during play, learning activities, meals, naps, and outdoor time.
- Implement age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, social skills, and creativity.
- Support children with disabilities or special needs by adapting activities and providing personalized care.
- Follow mandated reporting laws to ensure the safety and well-being of all children; report any concerns or incidents promptly.
- Assist with diapering, feeding, and basic health needs for infants and toddlers while maintaining hygiene standards.
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and team members to communicate children's progress and address individual needs.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, behavior management strategies, and developmental milestones.
Skills
- Proven experience working with children across various settings such as daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying or youth programs teaching experience.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
- Ability to manage behavior effectively using positive reinforcement techniques.
- Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and First Aid to ensure immediate response to emergencies.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is highly valued.
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child abuse or neglect.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with children, parents, and team members professionally and empathetically.
