Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to support and lead EV charger installation projects throughout Michigan. This role involves working on high-voltage (up to 480V) systems, leading small crews, and ensuring jobs are completed on time and in full compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and assist in the installation of EV chargers and 480V electrical systems
- Run and supervise underground conduit installations (PVC, EMT, rigid)
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Perform site assessments, install service panels, breakers, and transformers
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and ensure proper system functionality
- Ensure all work complies with NEC, Michigan Part 8 Electrical Code, and OSHA standards
- Collaborate with project managers, customers, and inspectors
- Track and report project progress, material use, and crew performance
- Maintain safe, clean, and organized work environments
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Journeyman Electrician in the State of Michigan
- Registered with LARA (MI Dept. of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs)
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on electrical experience (including 480V systems and conduit work)
- Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise a small crew
- Strong troubleshooting skills and understanding of electrical safety standards
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors/in trenches or confined spaces as needed
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for site plan visits
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with EV charger installations
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification
- Familiarity with digital reporting tools or project management software
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
