Duties
- Stock shelves accurately and efficiently, ensuring products are well-organized and visually appealing through effective merchandising techniques
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to process transactions quickly and accurately, handling cash, credit, and digital payments with professionalism
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions about products, and offering product demos when appropriate
- Assist customers with upselling items to enhance their shopping experience and increase store sales
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and stockroom to promote a safe shopping environment
- Conduct inventory checks and assist with stocking deliveries to ensure product availability at all times
- Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when interacting with customers over the phone or via online inquiries
Qualifications
- Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery stores or similar environments
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures is essential
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
- Supervising experience is advantageous for supporting team members during busy periods
- Ability to perform basic math for cash transactions and retail math calculations confidently
- Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and grocery store operations is highly desirable
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work flexible hours as needed
