Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter/Spackler to join our construction and renovation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paint, and finishing various projects across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role requires a strong understanding of painting techniques, surface preparation, and the use of hand and power tools. Experience in construction site work, blueprint reading, and related trades is highly valued. The Painter/Spackler will contribute to high-quality project completion while maintaining safety standards on-site.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, caulking, plastering, and applying primer as needed
- Apply paint, stain, or coatings using brushes, rollers, airless paint sprayers, or other equipment
- Perform drywall finishing including taping, mudding, sanding, and texture application
- Install fixtures, trim carpentry elements, and perform restoration work on existing surfaces
- Execute masonry tasks such as stucco application and concrete finishing when required
- Read blueprints and schematics to determine project specifications and color schemes based on color theory principles
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely for surface preparation and finishing tasks
- Assist with remodeling projects by performing carpentry tasks such as framing or fixture installation
- Maintain a clean work environment and ensure all safety protocols are followed during operations
Skills
- Proficiency in residential and commercial painting techniques including industrial painting and airless spray application
- Experience with caulking, trim carpentry, restoration work, masonry, drywall finishing (plastering), and renovation projects
- Ability to operate hand tools such as trowels, scrapers, brushes, rollers; power tools including drills and saws
- Familiarity with construction site safety procedures and experience working on construction sites or remodeling projects
- Maintenance Person experience is advantageous for multi-trade tasks such as fixture installation or maintenance work
