What are the responsibilities and job description for the Executive Director position at Chardon Area Chamber of Commerce?
The Chardon Area Chamber of Commerce promotes, protects and serves the general business interest of the City of Chardon and surrounding area. Additionally, the Chamber strives to create a unified public spirit within the community.
The Executive Director is responsible and accountable to the Board of Directors to provide executive leadership to the Chardon Area Chamber of Commerce.
The Executive Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the organization.
This person is the principal, on-site staff person responsible for coordinating all programs, events, and representing the community locally and regionally. The position works for the elected Board of Directors and ensures they operate within compliance of adopted bylaws and policies and procedures.
Create monthly board meeting agendas and supporting documentation
Cultivate relationships with area organizations; city and county government officials; and the local business community
Maintain communication with Chamber officers, committees, members, and general public
Oversee the general finances of the Chamber
Report monthly to the Board of Directors on membership, finances, and economic development
With approval of the treasurer and Board President, develop an annual budget for the Chamber’s operations which includes projected revenues and expenses
Coordinate with treasurer and Board President to oversee all financial statements and transactions concerning monthly banking account reconciliations, bill pay, payroll, profit and loss reporting, budget vs. actual statements, and reconciliation of member dues
Under the leadership of the Fund Raising committee organize, direct and execute Chamber’s fund raising
Membership & Marketing
Oversee and plan projects and events within timelines and budgetary constraints
Retain and increase membership through programs and services to meet member needs. Maintain and update membership records continuously and ensure dues are current.
