The Charak Center for Health and Wellness is a well-established, state certified and Joint Commission accredited behavioral health agency with locations in Elyria, Garfield Heights, Medina, Mentor, and Stow. We provide services to individuals with mental health and substance use issues. Due to continued growth, we are currently hiring licensed clinicians to provide high quality behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and adults. These are office-based positions.

Our multidisciplinary team of skilled, compassionate professionals is dedicated to guiding clients along their individual paths to recovery. We employ a multifaceted approach that includes cutting-edge pharmacotherapy (psychotropic medications), evidence-based individual and group therapy, Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS), and Community Psychiatric Support Services (CPST).  In addition to medication-based treatments, we also offer proven non-pharmacological therapies such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), Vagal Nerve Stimulation (VNS), and validated aspects of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM).

 About the Role:

The Therapeutic Behavioral Specialist (TBS) plays a critical role in providing comprehensive support and intervention to children and adolescents with behavioral health needs across multiple sites including Elyria, Garfield Heights, Medina, and Mentor. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized treatment plans that promote positive behavioral changes and enhance the overall well-being of clients. TBS collaborates closely with families, schools, healthcare providers, and community resources to ensure coordinated care and effective service delivery. Through direct therapeutic interventions and ongoing assessment, the role aims to reduce behavioral challenges and support clients in achieving their personal and developmental goals. Ultimately, this position contributes to improving the quality of life for clients by fostering a safe, supportive, and structured environment tailored to their unique needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Three (3) years mental health experience or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related human services field.
• Experience working with children and adolescents in behavioral health or therapeutic settings.
• Knowledge of therapeutic behavioral interventions and case management principles.
• Ability to obtain and maintain any required state certifications or licenses related to Therapeutic Behavioral Services.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
• Previous experience specifically providing Therapeutic Behavioral Services .
• Familiarity with local community resources and behavioral health systems in the Elyria, Garfield Heights, Medina, and Mentor areas.
• Training in trauma-informed care and crisis intervention techniques.
• Bilingual abilities or experience working with diverse populations.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments to identify client needs to help develop individualized case management/TBS plans.
• Provide direct therapeutic behavioral services to children, adolescents and adults n various settings, including home, school, and community environments.
• Collaborate with families, educators, healthcare professionals, and community agencies to coordinate care and support client progress.
• Monitor and document client progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to meet evolving needs.
• Advocate for clients’ needs and facilitate access to additional resources and services as appropriate.
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory and organizational policies, including confidentiality and documentation standards.
• Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and ongoing professional development activities.

Skills:

The required and preferred skills are essential for delivering effective therapeutic behavioral services and managing complex cases. Strong assessment and treatment planning skills enable the Case Manager/TBS to tailor interventions to each client’s unique needs. Communication and collaboration skills are used daily to build trust with clients and families and to coordinate care with schools and healthcare providers. Documentation and organizational skills ensure accurate tracking of client progress and compliance with regulatory standards. Additionally, problem-solving and crisis management skills are critical for responding to challenging behaviors and adapting strategies to support client success.
