The Charak Center for Health and Wellness is a well-established, state certified and Joint Commission accredited behavioral health agency with locations in Elyria, Garfield Heights, Medina, Mentor, and Stow. We provide services to individuals with mental health and substance use issues. Due to continued growth, we are currently hiring licensed clinicians to provide high quality behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and adults. These are office-based positions.

We are looking for clinicians for all of our offices: Garfield Heights, Elyria, Medina, Stow and Medina. In addition to strong clinical, ethical, and communication skills the ideal candidate should possess the sincere desire to help others through a collaborative effort. While a master’s degree and independent licensure are preferred, we will consider other candidates with credentials and relevant work experience. Both full time and part time positions are available.

Our multidisciplinary team of skilled, compassionate professionals is dedicated to guiding clients along their individual paths to recovery. We employ a multifaceted approach that includes cutting-edge pharmacotherapy (psychotropic medications), evidence-based individual and group therapy, Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS), and Community Psychiatric Support Services (CPST).  In addition to medication-based treatments, we also offer proven non-pharmacological therapies such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), Vagal Nerve Stimulation (VNS), and validated aspects of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM).

We are actively hiring for our Elyria, Garfield Heights, Medina, and Stow locations and welcome applications for all of our offices.

The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical, ethical, and communication skills, along with a sincere desire to help others through collaborative, person-centered care.

 About the Role:

The Licensed Counselor plays a critical role in providing comprehensive therapeutic services to individuals struggling with mental health and substance use disorders. This position involves conducting thorough assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions to support clients' recovery and well-being. The therapist collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care and continuity of services across multiple sites. A key outcome of this role is to empower clients to achieve improved mental health, reduce addiction-related harms, and enhance their overall quality of life. The therapist also contributes to community outreach and education efforts to promote awareness and reduce stigma associated with mental health and addiction challenges.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current and valid state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), or Licensed Independent Marriage and Family Therapist (LIMFT).
  • Master’s degree or higher in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related mental health field.
  • Demonstrated experience providing therapy to individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based treatment approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and trauma-informed care.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple clinical sites including Elyria, Garfield Heights, and Medina.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience or certification in addiction counseling or equivalent specialized training.
  • Experience working within community mental health or integrated behavioral health settings.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and clinical data management.
  • Bilingual skills or cultural competency in serving diverse populations.
  • Experience in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • ·Provide individual or group psychotherapy to people ages 6 and up.

    · Develop Individualized Treatment Plan with clients.

  • Use collaborative treatment approach to include best practice and evidence-based interventions.

  • Provide and engage in other services necessary to support treatment to clients.

  • Conduct diagnostic assessments.

  • Demonstrate the ability to provide culturally competent services.

  • Ensure clinical services are provided in accordance with standard

  • Support community education initiatives to increase awareness and understanding of mental health and addiction issues.

Skills:

The therapist utilizes strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills daily to accurately identify client needs and tailor treatment plans accordingly. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building therapeutic rapport and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care. Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic techniques allows the therapist to deliver impactful interventions that promote recovery and resilience. Organizational skills are critical for managing caseloads, maintaining detailed documentation, and coordinating care across multiple sites. Additionally, cultural sensitivity and adaptability enable the therapist to meet the diverse needs of clients from various backgrounds, enhancing treatment engagement and outcomes.

Salary : $50,000 - $66,500
