POSITION:
Behavioral Specialist
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's Degree in applied behavior analysis
- Minimum 5 years experience in a related field of special education
- Certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
PREFERRED TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
- Trauma-Informed Practices in Schools
- Hanley Protocol
- Experience with students with emotional and cognitive impairments
- Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports
- Crisis Prevention Intervention and Ukeru
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Lead a specialized behavior intervention team to support classroom students and staff.
- Consult with school staff and families to support individual student development of social skills and emotional regulation.
- Provide consultation and instructional coaching to implement Applied Behavior Analysis strategies to teach identified social and emotional regulation skills.
- Ensure data collection tool(s) to monitor progress of the intervention are made available and are adequate to meet the needs of students and staff.
- Participate in data team analysis of student-level data.
- Create individual student tiered interventions, in alignment with the AIM curriculum strategies and other evidence-based interventions, in coordination with other staff, including but not limited to related service providers, instructional consultants, and the school psychologist.
- Collaborate with staff to model.coach and provide identified interventions.
- Provide instruction and technical assistance to monitor skills of individuals enrolled in the RBT training series.
- Design and conduct professional learning opportunities focused on applied behavior analysis strategies.
- Develop technical assistance training opportunities and resources to address identified needs.
- Coordinate with Char-Em ISO service providers to enhance integrated behavioral services.
- Partner with community agencies such as Community Mental Health, Child Protective Services, North Arrow ABA Services, Acorn Health ABA Services, and/or medical providers to ensure alignment and coordination of student plans.
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required of the position.
- Predictable, reliable, and punctual attendance.
- Other responsibilities as assigned at the direction of the Supervisor or Superintendent.

Principal of Special Education Classrooms
CONTRACT LENGTH:
190 days annually, school year

Based on experience, EA Salary Schedule
