What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, Web Strategy position at chapman?
Reporting to and working closely with the Associate Vice President of Marketing and Digital Strategy in Strategic Marketing and Communications (SMC), the Director of Web Strategy is a strategic partner helping to lead the vision, strategy, and execution of the university’s web presence to enhance user experience, and digital engagement. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, technical expertise, web design and development experience, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure Chapman’s websites align with strategic goals and delivers measurable results. This role is both strategic and operational—client-facing with campus leaders and hands-on with the internal web and other SMC team members.Working in close partnership with designers, IT, digital marketing, and SMC leadership, this role manages a small team of developers responsible for creating and maintaining engaging, compliant, optimized, and performance-driven marketing websites and technology. The ideal candidate brings hands-on expertise in web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, WordPress, GitHub, web service architecture, and DevOps—and is expected to be an emerging leader within SMC, contributing to the broader digital vision of the university.This position is in person in Orange, CA. The successful candidate will be expected to be in the office fulltime.
