Position Overview
Chapman Electrical Contracting, Inc. is seeking a skilled and dependable Journeyman Electrician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in residential, commercial, and/or industrial electrical work and be capable of working independently while maintaining high-quality workmanship and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and components
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings
- Install conduit, wiring, panels, lighting, switches, outlets, and control systems
- Diagnose electrical issues using testing equipment and repair systems efficiently
- Ensure all work complies with NEC codes, OSHA regulations, and company safety standards
- Coordinate with project managers, apprentices, and other trades on job sites
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Complete service calls and project tasks in a timely and professional manner
- Train and mentor apprentices when needed
Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license
- Minimum 3–5 years of electrical experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, troubleshooting, and NEC code requirements
- Ability to read blueprints and technical documents
- Experience with commercial and residential projects preferred
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in various environments
