Position Overview
Chaplin & Gonet is seeking a Legal Assistant to provide administrative and clerical support to attorneys and legal teams to ensure efficient operation of the office. This role involves managing legal documents, data entry, client communication, and assisting attorneys, paralegals, and case managers as needed.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage updates in collections software (JST knowledge helpful but not a must)
· Handling of incoming mail from courts, defendants, and opposing counsel
· Drafting and filing of legal documents
· Data entry such as inputting service information, etc.
· Clerical duties such as copying, scanning, and faxing
· Must work with a sense of urgency and be able to handle high volume
· Assist attorneys, paralegals, and case managers when applicable
· Maintain compliance with the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act
Qualifications Required
Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a legal or administrative support role.
Knowledge: Familiarity with legal terminology, procedures, and documentation.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Organization: Excellent time management and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in document preparation and data entry. Ability to think of the full picture.
Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
Teamwork: Collaborative attitude and ability to work effectively with attorneys and staff. Willingness to be cross trained.

Business Hours: Monday through Thursday 8:00am to 4:30pm and Fridays 8:30am to 3:30pm
Successful candidate will be offered a Full-Time Salary position with a Benefits Package.
