The Position
Chapin School seeks an Associate Teacher to work with homeroom teachers in second and third grade to help support small group instruction in language arts and math. This position will also require other school and classroom support including help in science and social studies and school duties. This position will work closely with the homeroom teacher and report to the Assistant Head of School. The position is an excellent opportunity for a new teacher to garner classroom experience.
Responsibilities
- With the help of the homeroom teacher, implement lesson plans in support of small group instruction for both language arts and math classes.
- Support social studies and science instruction under the guidance of the homeroom teacher.
- Fulfill lunch, recess, and dismissal duties.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Knowledge of best practices in 21st century instruction.
- Forward thinking and creative teacher.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Comfort with technology integration.
- Commitment to collaborative and innovative teaching styles.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Interest in working in independent schools.
