- Strong understanding of instructional strategies and student engagement techniques.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- A personal commitment to the Christian faith and the ability to integrate faith into academic support.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining strong teamwork with staff.
- Responding to the daily issues that arise within a school, including crisis response if necessary.
- Planning “Boy Talk”; planning and/or leading “Girl Talk” (Discipleship-focused small group time), 4th - 6th grade
- Preparing and presenting classroom guidance lessons as needed
- Safe Touch Talks, grades PS - 2nd grade
- Can include topics such as kindness, making and keeping friends, making wise choices, and study skills, as requested by classroom teachers.
- Consulting with school administration to identify and resolve student issues, needs, and problems.
- Consulting with teachers to provide strategies to help students who are struggling academically, behaviorally, and emotionally, and giving support to the teacher.
- Working with parents to help foster communication between home and school.
- Writing and overseeing behavior meditation plans - including collaborating with teachers and families to create the plan, follow up with the student, and reassessment.
- Planning and presenting the Bullying Chapel.
