Essential Duties
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials
- Provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
- Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom
- Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals
- Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicates these objectives to the students
- Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media
- Evaluates students' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports
- Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss student's progress and interprets the school program
- Identifies pupil needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems
- Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district and through self-selected professional growth activities
- Participates in curriculum development programs as required
- Participates in faculty committees and the sponsorship of student activities
- Instructs pupils in a classroom, utilizing the course of study adopted by the Board of Education, and other appropriate learning activities
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil
- Translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students

- Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals

- Evaluates pupil performance and growth using a variety of formative and summative evaluation tools
- Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss student's progress and interprets the school program
- Collaborates with colleagues to promote an optimal learning environment for pupils
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
- Licensure in Theater required. Previous experience as a theater teacher at the high school or middle school levels preferred.
- ?Holds or is eligible to hold a N.C. teaching license
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Prior teaching experience preferred
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
