PERFORMANCE RESPOSIBILITIES:
After-School Program: Ten months, full-time, hours determined by program requirements.
EVALUATION: Performance is evaluated annually in accordance with the Board of Education's policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Elementary Education or related field
- One year administrative experience preferred
- One year experience managing and supervising a licensed after-school program or child care
- CPR, Standard First Aid and Playground Safety certification highly desirable
- Such alternatives or additional qualifications as Board of Education finds appropriate and acceptable

PERFORMANCE RESPOSIBILITIES:
- Program Responsibilities
- Plans, organizes and supervises all program activities in accordance with the NC Child Care Licensing Requirements.
- Assures adherence to policies relating to the operation of After-School and Summer Camp programs in this school system.
- Provides an environment that insures the safety and well being of students and staff.
- Provides an environment that meets and accommodates the individual mental, physical, emotional and social developmental needs of students.
- Provides age-appropriate materials to support daily activity plans.
- Plans, directs and evaluates full-day school-age care program on all Teacher Workdays.
- Plans and implements field trips for students.
- Solicits, assesses and implements student, parent and staff ideas for program activities.
- Utilizes school, program and community resources to enhance program goals and provide enriching activities for students.
- Compiles and distributes four site newsletters annually.
- Assists Program Supervisor with updating and developing program theme packets.
- Administrative Responsibilities
- Directs the After-School and Summer Camp sites in accordance with school rules.
- Ensures the implementation of age-appropriate, creative and engaging daily activities that foster a positive environment for students in grades K-5.
- Supervises Assistant Site Directors, Group Leaders, volunteers and substitutes.
- Provides positive, professional role modeling in teaching and directing.
- Prepares and posts daily activity plans in accordance with NC Licensing requirements.
- Assists in the selection and training of Assistant Site Directors, Group Leaders and substitutes.
- Counsels staff as needed to ensure program continuity.
- Follows school district and program policies for managing student behavior.
- Monitors and approves staff time sheets.
- Attends Site Director meetings and holds weekly staff meetings.
- Monitors program daily and evaluates program effectiveness.
- Evaluates staff performance according to district policy.
- Maintains district health and safety guidelines in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Adheres to National School Lunch regulations for student snacks and lunches.
- Develops and follows appropriate procedures for emergency situations.
- Cooperates, collaborates and communicates frequently with the school administrators and teachers to provide effective programming and to build strong relationships with school personnel.
- Organizes and directs site-based After-School Advisory Committee.
- Utilizes financial resources efficiently, monitors expenses and maintains accurate records.
- Reports building, equipment repairs to the Principal and Director of Community Schools.
- Conducts monthly fire drills and other drills as required; maintains records of drills.
- Maintains daily student attendance, medical and emergency records.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Community Schools.
