Job Description – Shipping & Material Control
The position of Shipping & Material Control works within the various product lines to support consistent production and quality efforts and minimizes interruption throughout build cells.
Key Responsibilities:
- Unloads trucks to receive sheet stock, raw materials and expense items.
- Packs product and loads trucks for customer shipments and materials being shipped for outside processing.
- Electronically enters materials transactions and PO receipts in JobBoss.
- Maintains inventory control in JobBoss.
- Moves materials to appropriate work cell and records transfer in JobBoss.
- Supports cycle count program
- Utilizes FedEx and UPS software to ship product. May provide back-up support to various shipping departments as needed.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Quality & Training:
- Understands and follows basic policies and procedures
- Reports any potential issues related to safety, quality, and delivery to their manager.
- Participate in quality initiatives.
Maintenance & Safety:
- Follow company policy pertaining to maintenance and safety requirements.
- Maintain a safe, clean and well-organized environment at all times.
Chapco Team Player:
- Willing to think outside the box when problem solving and participate in any project not necessarily falling within this description as necessary or applicable. Collaborate with fellow staff members to ensure success of all.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Possess a valid and clear Driver's License.
- Ability to use manual and power hand tools.
- Able to be certified as a forklift operator
- Job requires stooping, bending, sitting, walking, and ability to lift (10-25 lbs) during most of the workday.
- Specific vision requirements include close vision and color vision.
- Available to work overtime if needed.
- Strong team player and reliable.
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- Able to understand and follow Chapco policy and procedures.
- Strong computer skills preferred – Microsoft Office Suite, UPS Worldship, FedEx manager.
1st Shift, 7:00am - 3:30pm Monday thru Friday
Salary : $19 - $24
