SUMMARY:

Janitor is responsible for cleaning and maintaining various areas of the building, including offices, restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Clean and maintain various areas of the building, including offices, restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors, and remove any stains or spills.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and mirrors.
• Empty trash cans and recycling bins, and ensure that all waste is properly disposed of.
• Restock supplies, such as paper towels, toilet paper, and soap.
• Dust and wipe down surfaces, including desks, tables, chairs, and windowsills.
• Clean windows and mirrors, and remove any smudges or streaks.
• Follow cleaning and safety procedures, and use cleaning chemicals and equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
• Report any maintenance issues or damage to the appropriate manager.
• Provide excellent customer service to employees and visitors, and respond to any requests or concerns in a professional and timely manner

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in a janitorial or custodial role, with experience in commercial or office cleaning preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a positive and can-do attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with employees and visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects, such as furniture or equipment.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, as needed.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

• Ability to communicate effectively with customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

• Ability to add and subtract three digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.
