Duties
- Lead and supervise nursing staff, including nurse managers and direct care providers, to ensure optimal resident care delivery.
- Develop, review, and update individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs, preferences, and medical conditions.
- Oversee the management of medical records, documentation review, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect resident privacy.
- Coordinate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to facilitate seamless care transitions across settings such as assisted living, home health, hospice care, and nursing homes.
- Monitor shift management to ensure proper staffing levels while maintaining high standards of patient safety and quality care.
- Utilize Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for accurate documentation and efficient data management.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements including Medicare guidelines, state licensing standards, and safety protocols related to medical terminology, physiology, anatomy knowledge, and HIPAA compliance.
Experience
- Proven experience in assisted living facilities or nursing homes with a strong background in nursing administration.
- Demonstrated supervising experience with a focus on nurse management and leadership within healthcare settings such as acute care or home health environments.
- Familiarity with MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments for skilled nursing facilities and Medicare regulations.
- Hands-on experience managing medical records, documentation review processes, and ensuring compliance with privacy laws like HIPAA.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and the use of EMR/EHR systems for effective clinical documentation.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams, oversee shift management effectively, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
