The Chanute Regional Development Authority (CRDA) is seeking a self-driven, community-focused professional to serve as its next Executive Director. This position provides leadership and direction for economic development initiatives that strengthen and grow the Chanute region.
Salary: Starting at $70,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Position Overview
The Executive Director works closely with community members, local businesses, and City leadership to support economic development. This is a highly visible position that requires strong local engagement, clear communication, and a genuine commitment in the long-term success of Chanute.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and implement economic development and community growth strategies
Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with local businesses, community leaders, and residents
Attend City Commission meetings and collaborate regularly with key City of Chanute officials and staff
Serve as a visible representative of CRDA within the Chanute community and surrounding region
Communicate clearly and professionally with stakeholders, board members, and the public
Identify opportunities for business attraction, retention, and expansion
Support strategic planning, project development, and organizational initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in economic development, related field or a strong business background
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated and comfortable working independently while staying highly engaged with the community
Demonstrated ability to build trust and productive relationships
Familiarity with Chanute and the surrounding area strongly preferred, including knowledge of the local business and community landscape
