Chanute Housing Authority is seeking a dependable, self-motivated Maintenance Specialist to help maintain our public housing properties. This is a full-time position offering stable employment, excellent benefits, and the opportunity to make a positive impact in our community.
Responsibilities
- Complete maintenance work orders in occupied and vacant units.
- Prepare apartments for new residents, including repairs and painting.
- Perform general maintenance including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, appliances, and flooring.
- Assist with preventative maintenance, grounds maintenance, and emergency repairs.
- Maintain a safe work environment and provide professional customer service to residents.
Qualifications
- Experience in residential or commercial maintenance preferred.
- Experience or knowledge in electrical, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, plumbing, or general building maintenance is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally and work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screening.
