What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automation Technician (Electrical, Controls, Robotics) position at Chantland MHS?
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with automation team members to maintain and support automated material handling systems.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical control systems and machine operations.
Write, modify, and debug safe and effective control programs that meet customer and company requirements.
Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues impacting equipment performance.
Assist with system commissioning and operational testing.
Maintain quality standards for equipment prior to shipment.
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Minimum 2 years of electrical experience
Knowledge of electrical practices and safety standards
Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Basic computer and office software skills
Ability to travel as required
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Robotics Technology, or related field
4 years of electrical or automation experience
Technical Skills
Experience or exposure in one or more of the following areas:
Controls systems (VFDs, PLCs, HMIs — Allen-Bradley or similar platforms)
Robotics systems
Electrical systems and wiring
Mechanical systems
Pneumatics
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive hourly wage: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour, based on experience
