DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Support project engineers and managers in the analysis of technical problems and find sound solutions to those problems.
· Install and provide technical support for PLC and DeltaV DCS hardware and software.
· Program PLC’s and a working knowledge of ladder logic.
· Develop and optimize electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery.
· Respond to on-call and emergency service needs as required.
· Negotiate technical issues with customers to ensure alignment with current and future business needs.
· Troubleshoot PLC, control systems, and automation issues to ensure optimal system performance.
· Ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
· Participate in system/equipment problem solving, investigating operating deficiencies/inefficiencies and providing recommendations for modifications to physical setup or operating procedures to improve the reliability and production efficiency of the equipment or system.
Ø SUPERVISION:
· Oversight of plant instrumentation contractors is required.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
v EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION:
§ Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation or Automation Engineering preferred, non degreed individuals will be considered as well.
§ Strong problem-solving skills including experience in 8D, FMEA, and DMAIC methodologies.
§ Comprehensive knowledge of various types of PLCs and their applications.
§ Experience with Honeywell, Emerson, Allen Bradley, and Siemens control systems (preferred).
§ Ability to perform hands-on diagnostics, repairs, and programming using hand tools, instruments, and meters.
§ Proven ability to independently troubleshoot production machinery and equipment for continuous quality and efficiency improvements.
§ Experience with Fanuc and ABB robotics systems. (highly desirable).
§ Proficiency in Indramat and Siemens programming, Cognex vision systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
v EXPERIENCE
§ 5 to 8 years’ experience in the maintenance and troubleshooting of control systems, PLC’s, and field instrumentation.
§ Ability to lead towards engineering solutions that are fit for purpose.
§ Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
