Scope, execute, and deliver PLC/HMI/SCADA solutions that improve safety, quality, throughput, and reliability. This role is project-based with cross-functional collaboration (Operations, Maintenance, Quality, HSE, IT).
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead automation projects end-to-end—from scope and design through commissioning, handover, and sustainment—meeting all scope, schedule, budget, and risk goals.
- Design and implement PLC/HMI/SCADA solutions (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Wonderware, Ignition, Concept) that enhance safety, quality, throughput, and reliability.
- Manage vendors/SIs/OEMs: develop SOWs, select partners, and approve designs, code, and documentation per site standards.
- Oversee commissioning and change control, ensuring compliance with LOTO and energization procedures.
- Maintain and enforce controls standards, including code libraries, naming conventions, backups, and version control.
- Keep technical documentation current—P&IDs, schematics, panel layouts, network diagrams, and O&M instructions.
- Integrate SCADA and MES systems; configure dashboards, alarms, and KPI reporting for performance visibility.
- Drive reliability and continuous improvement through RCA, FMEA, and cross-functional collaboration with Maintenance/Ops.
- Administer project governance—charters, schedules, budgets, risk logs, and stakeholder communications.
- Deliver training and handover, ensuring operator/technician competency and ownership per MOC requirements.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, and site EHS standards; embed safety interlocks and verifications in all designs.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- BSc in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
- 5 years experience in heavy manufacturing environment
- Project-focused orientation for automation
- improvement projects.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs, including programming/code development or
- effective oversight of third-party development (code reviews, testing, documentation).
- Experience with SCADA systems: Wonderware (AVEVA), Concept, and/or Ignition.
- Understanding of industrial communications and networks and common plant devices (VFDs, drives,
- instrumentation, safety relays).
- Solid project control skills (scope, schedule, budget, risk, change control) and clear technical
- documentation.
