This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with consistent weekday hours and competitive pay based on experience. In this role, you will be responsible for operating skid steer loaders and other heavy equipment to support various construction projects. Duties
- Operate skid steer loaders with precision, ensuring safe and efficient movement of materials around construction sites
- Assist with excavation, grading, loading, and unloading materials using equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, and tankers
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on all heavy machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met
- Collaborate with site supervisors and team members to execute construction plans accurately and efficiently
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations while operating equipment to maintain a secure work environment
- Support other heavy equipment operations including horizontal drilling, paving, and water truck duties as needed
- Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, inspections, and maintenance activities
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy construction equipment including skid steers, excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, and horizontal drilling machinery
- Proven experience operating skid steer loaders in a construction environment
- Ability to operate additional heavy machinery such as Caterpillar equipment efficiently and safely
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or equivalent for operating dump trucks and other transport vehicles
- Solid understanding of construction site safety procedures and regulations
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and supervisors
- Basic troubleshooting skills for common mechanical issues on heavy equipment
