Position Summary: The Sales Coordinator is responsible for supporting the VP of Procurement & Sales in the selling of bulk commodities, expanding business opportunities, looking into emerging markets, and understanding market trends. This position will be dealing in a volume business and serve as a key contact person for customers.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic outreach to prospective customers through email and phone-based campaigns and other creative outbound prospecting.
- Generate leads through consistent communications with potential clients.
- Responsible for the implementation of ongoing and new product sales projects.
- Assist in updating existing marketing collateral and revamping the company website.
- Design and create additional marketing materials for existing and new products to augment the company’s presence.
- Contact new or existing customers to discuss how specific products or services can meet their needs.
- Identify prospective customers using business directories, leads from existing clients, participation in organizations, trade shows, and conference attendance.
- Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, or credit terms.
- Pursue new sales opportunities at key accounts and secure meetings with new potential customers.
- Maintain knowledge of products and services to assist in sales and customer relations.
- Provide strong client support and coordination for customers.
- Seek and research new sources of prospective customers and potential opportunities.
- Develop promotional and project plans to present to new customers.
- Attend sales or trade meetings or read related publications to obtain information about market conditions, business trends, environmental regulations, and industry developments.
- Stock and distribute resources, such as promotional or educational materials.
- Qualify, develop, and maintain thorough company and product knowledge, research consumer needs, and identify how we can meet them.
- Provide administrative and project support for a variety of sales and outreach programs.
- Assist the management team in developing and implementing an overall sale and marketing strategy.
- Collaborate with management team to exchange information, such as selling strategies or marketing information.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in sales.
- 3 years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite programs including a high proficiency with Excel.
- Previous B2B customer facing account management strongly desired.
- Previous experience with logistics and with manufacturing preferred.
- This position may be required to travel locally and internationally as required for standard business purposes.
- Good administrative, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines.
- Current knowledge of industry trends and regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to call, connect and interact with potential customers.
