About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior QA Tester to support testing efforts for a large-scale government application. This role involves developing and executing test plans, validating data, collaborating with project teams, and ensuring high-quality delivery throughout the software development lifecycle. The position is onsite in Washington, DC.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop test strategies, test plans, and detailed test cases.
- Perform manual testing and document defects with complete, accurate reporting.
- Use Microfocus ALM and Jira to manage test artifacts, requirements, and defects.
- Write SQL queries to validate data accuracy, integrity, and results.
- Execute functional, integration, regression, and acceptance testing.
- Collaborate with project managers, developers, and stakeholders to support testing phases.
- Participate fully in the software development lifecycle from design to deployment.
- Analyze requirements, review documentation, and ensure test coverage.
- Support business users during testing cycles and coordinate issue resolution.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive experience with Microfocus ALM (6 years).
- Experience with Jira (6 years).
- Strong experience writing testing reports (10 years).
- Strong SQL skills for validation testing (10 years).
- Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical partners (10 years).
- Ability to support SDLC phases from design to deployment (10 years).
- Hands-on experience writing test cases and executing them (8 years).
- Experience adapting business requirements into technical solutions (6–10 years).
- Experience with investment analysis, warehousing, e-commerce, ROI, HR analysis, or info dissemination (6 years).
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field.
- Ability to qualify for STaR2 Journeyman labor category.
Preferred Qualifications
- 6–10 years of ERP-related experience such as logistics, supply chain, procurement, material management, or knowledge management (Highly Desired).
