ABOUT US:
Changes Psychological Services, PLLC is a small, insurance-based private practice that opened in Downtown DC in September 2016. We are a close-knit and collegial group that is looking to add an exceptional Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor to our team! We specialize in providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for adults with anxiety and mood disorders. Our clients are highly motivated and engaged, including early career professionals, college/graduate students and government employees.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
This position is ideal for those who are looking to gain advanced training and experience in evidence-based practice. Specifically, you will learn how to apply the basic tenets and foundations of CBT, while acquiring knowledge of how to implement various skills and techniques from “third wave” therapies (i.e., DBT, ACT and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy). You will also receive supervision in the diagnosis and treatment of individuals with a variety of mental health conditions (e.g., Adjustment Disorders, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Depressive Disorders), while enjoying the benefits of working in a private practice.
This is an independent, 1099-contractor position that requires a minimum of 10 hours per week of direct client contact. However, preference will be given to candidates seeking to work full-time (i.e., 25-30 direct client hours per week). An initial one-year commitment is required and positions are entirely remote. Willingness to become credentialed with insurance panels is also required. Credentialing assistance is provided.
Master’s level clinicians with an active LGPC license (or license-eligible) in the District of Columbia are encouraged to apply. Supervision with a Licensed Professional Counselor will be provided in accordance with DC licensing requirements. In addition to supervision hours, individual consultation is available both weekly and upon request with the practice owner, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. Professional group consultations are also available weekly for additional growth in specialty areas of diagnosis (e.g., OCD, Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Panic Disorder) and treatment (e.g., Exposure with Response Prevention, Interoceptive Exposure).
ABOUT YOUR SUPERVISOR:
Megan Marchetti, M.A. is a Licensed Professional Counselor in both Washington, DC and Colorado. She began her clinical work in a community mental health setting providing individual, couples and group therapy for clients experiencing severe and persistent mental illness. Since joining Changes Psychological Services in 2020, Megan's clinical experience has focused on implementing CBT skills and techniques to treat anxiety and mood-related disorders. Additionally, Megan's training in Brene Brown's Daring Way™ curriculum allows her to integrate compassion-focused approaches, and topics such as vulnerability, courage and self-compassion are core principles of her practice.
