New Hire Experience Compensation

1% for two or more years of full time like experience and an additional 1% per year not to exceed the maximum hiring range of 5%.

New Hire Education Compensation

1% of hourly rate for a college degree in a similar field, combined with work experience credit not to exceed the maximum hiring range of 5%.

CLASSIFICATION: SUPPORT STAFF

JOB TITLE: CHILDCARE GROUP LEADER (KIDS EXPRESS)

WORK CALENDAR: 2613PT (9 MONTHS)

SALARY: GRADE 106 (SUPPORT HOURLY)

Job Goal

Assist in providing quality childcare in a nurturing, safe environment using developmentally appropriate curriculum.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience working with children
• Minimum 6 months of experience required
• Ability to operate standard office equipment, including a computer and related software
• Satisfactory criminal background check
• Negative TB test required upon hire
• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent desired
  
  

Core Job Functions:

• Supervise children in the before and after school program, but not limited to play periods, meal time, field trips, bathroom, assemblies, and emergency drills
• Prepare lesson plans and instruct children with an age-appropriate curriculum
• Develop and create bulletin boards, signs, borders, and classroom displays
• Assist students with various physical, emotional, and educational needs
• Provide guidance and direction to students regarding appropriate behavior and social skills.
• Alert the supervisor to any problem or special information about a student
• Communicate with parents on the student's progress, behaviors, issues, and outcomes
• Maintain the confidentiality of protected student and staff member information even after no longer employed
• Be flexible and perform other duties relating to the general job function as assigned by the supervisor
• Establish and maintain a safe and healthy learning environment.
• Keep educational materials, equipment, and the general room environment neat, safe, and clean.
• Attend all staff training sessions, meetings, and programs.
• Accept responsibility for students' well-being and safety while they are in the employee's care
• Be alert to and report the possibility of any substance use, child abuse, or dangerous situation based upon daily observation
• Operating and caring for the school district's equipment properly
• Follow district policies as outlined
• Perform all duties safely and prudently as directed by supervisors
• Participate in a minimum of 18 training hours per year.
• Maintain current CPR/First Aid Certification as required by the program
