What are the responsibilities and job description for the Millwright position at CHANDLER & CAMPBELLE INVESTMENT GROUP LLC?
Chandler and Campbelle Investment Group (CCD), in partnership with Vanderlande Industries, is seeking qualified Millwrights to support the Eppley Airfield Terminal Modernization Program in Omaha, Nebraska. This is a temporary assignment, expected to last up to 22 months, offering a competitive pay rate of $29 per hour. The position may require extended work hours, including shifts ranging from 12 to 16 hours, and candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a TSA-issued badge prior to starting work.
Millwrights will join CCD’s field operations team and play a critical role in the installation, alignment, and assembly of large-scale mechanical systems in a physically demanding construction environment. Responsibilities include reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, layout drawings, and technical manuals to determine proper installation procedures. The role involves moving, loading, transporting, and unloading machinery using tools such as hoists, dollies, rollers, forklifts, and trucks, as well as assembling and installing conveyors, platforms, catwalks, and related equipment.
The position requires regular use of hand and power tools, along with precision alignment instruments such as squares, levels, plumb bobs, micrometers, and optical or laser alignment tools. Millwrights will secure machinery to foundations or structures through bolting, welding, or similar methods while strictly following all safety requirements and project guidelines. Clear communication with supervisors, teammates, and on-site contractors is essential, along with the ability to respond appropriately to safety alerts and potential hazards.
Qualified candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States, possess valid government-issued identification, and be able to read and write in English. Required experience includes OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification, at least two years of forklift operation, and one year of experience working from elevated man-lifts. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to read technical drawings, perform alignment procedures, and work safely in environments that require lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, balancing on scaffolding, and operating at heights or in confined spaces. Strong hearing, vision, and depth perception are required for safe performance in mechanical and construction settings. Experience with transit and leveling equipment is preferred.
This role requires flexibility to work extended hours and multiple shifts as needed. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and badge clearance. Work conditions may vary and include exposure to different temperatures and environmental conditions. CCD is an Equal Opportunity Employer and encourages qualified candidates to apply and contribute to the next generation of infrastructure improvements.
