Job Overview
As a Behavioral Health Technician (BHT/MHT), you will be an essential member of our treatment team, supporting patients with mental health, behavioral, or developmental challenges in a safe, therapeutic environment. Duties
- Provide direct support to patients with diverse behavioral health needs, including mental health conditions, developmental disabilities, and behavioral challenges.
- Assist in implementing individualized treatment and behavior-management plans.
- Monitor patient behavior, ensure safety, and maintain therapeutic environment standards.
- Document observations, patient progress, and required reports.
- Participate in crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed.
- Support daily living activities and unit routines.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some employers prefer CNA certification or coursework in social services.
- Experience in behavioral health is preferred but not required—many employers offer paid training.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and observational skills.
