What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional position at Chance 4 Change?
Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and professional individual to join our team for 2-3 overnight shifts a month. We often need someone to fill in for other shifts during the day; big plus if you can work extra overnights, on call. Must be able to register with IHSS in Mendocino County and pass background check through IHSS & Chance 4 Change. Experience is NOT required. We will provide training. You will be joining an established care team of passionate individuals. We are committed to the welfare and enrichment of our client. We honor open communication and active problem solving.
The job includes daily cooking, cleaning, household chores, transportation, assistance with medication, personal care, errands and engaging the client in activities like hiking or social activities within the community.
The client is an intelligent and curious man, in his mid thirties with autism. He has a variety of ways to advocate for himself including verbal language, gestural prompts and picture sheets. He is a kind, caring man with a great sense of humor. He is an active participant in his home. He assists with household chores, community errands and his own personal care. He is the kind of man who knows what he likes and knows what he wants!
