OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB:
This position, under the direction of the appropriate physician, is responsible for performing a variety of radiographic procedures using independent judgement. This position is responsible for ensuring high quality radiographic services while maintaining efficient quality control and performance improvement programs as well as compliance with government regulations.
Education/Training/License/Certification:
Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in a radiologic technologist program required.
Current, valid American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) registration required. Certification as a CT technologist is recommended.
Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation certification preferred at time of hire, required within 6 months of hire date.
Work Experience:
Six months to one year related experience and/or training preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or technical procedures.
- Ability to write reports and general correspondence.
- Ability to respond to questions from groups of managers, patients, or employees.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of CMS regulations, Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), and Department of Health Protection.
- Knowledge of Medicare and other insurance reimbursement requirements.
