This role is considered a hybrid role working 3-days in office and 2-days remote

Position:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sports Equipment Product Manager, who will be responsible for overseeing the entire product lifecycle of our sports accessory product line including, bags, caps, belts and socks, from conception to launch and beyond. This role involves a combination of market research, product development, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and strategic planning to ensure the success of this product line.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand market demand for products at both the athlete and retail level.
  • Understand manufacturing techniques and raw material technology for soft goods products including bags, belts, socks, and hats.
  • Manage all aspects of product lifecycle (business case development, concept development, detailed design, sourcing, commercialization, & discontinuation) for the accessories product category.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop effective product positioning and messaging including content reviews (photos, graphics & descriptions).
  • Coordinate with sales teams to understand market demand and optimize product offerings.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Department to ensure availability of necessary samples for trade shows and customer engagements.
  • Work with manufacturing and supply chain teams to ensure efficient production and delivery timing.
  • Development of new sourcing partnerships; includes international travel to visit suppliers to map out capabilities and develop partner relationships.
  • Responsible for net sales and gross margin for all products in the accessories category.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Product Marketing, Product Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in product management, preferably in the sports equipment industry developing new products and maintaining existing product lines.
  • Knowledge of market trends, consumer behavior, and industry regulations.
  • Soft goods product development experience including knowledge of materials, construction methods, and product testing requirements.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Experience sourcing products globally, working with manufacturing partners to scope and develop new products while also managing existing products in market.
  • Experience developing technical specifications, working cross functionally to develop detailed technical and design documents that relay proper specifications for manufacturing.
  • Experience developing highly technical gear bags for the sports equipment market.
