About the Program:

CVFC’s ICSC is a 24/7 Crisis Center that will offer a safe, therapeutic environment for individuals experiencing crises. The center will do this by aiming to stabilize and connect clients with ongoing support while emphasizing peer and recovery supports. The ICSC will provide access to quick services including med management and referrals to long term treatment options in the community.

Job Summary
We are seeking two compassionate and dedicated Peer Engagement Specialists to join our behavioral health team. In this role, you will serve as a vital link between clients and support services, utilizing your lived experience and professional skills to foster recovery, engagement, and empowerment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health counseling, crisis intervention, and social work, with a passion for mentoring and supporting individuals facing behavioral health challenges. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community by promoting recovery and resilience through peer support.

Responsibilities

  • Greet new Resident’s and support them throughout the treatment process.
  • Possess effective oral & written communication skills, adhere to oral & written directives given by professional staff.
  • Demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, integrity and courtesy through a sound understanding of CVFC’s policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of recipient’s rights, confidentiality, ethics and peer engagement and recovery coach roles.
  • Work with Recipients to navigate and use community resources in an effective manner.
  • Assist recipients in accessing transportation for necessary appointments.
  • Relates own recovery process in a positive and supportive manner through coaching, role modeling, and mentoring.
  • Complete intake process with new Recipient’s using EHR.
  • Conduct wellness rounds to ensure Recipient safety.
  • Complete safety plans with Recipient’s.
  • Work with recipients on a peer-driven, person-centered individualized service plans.
  • Set up after care appointments and document in case record.
  • Assist with discharge planning.

Skills

  • Experience in behavioral health, mental health counseling, or addiction counseling.
  • Compassionate communicator with active listening skills and cultural sensitivity.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism and empathy.
  • Knowledge of community resources related to mental health, substance use treatment, and social services. This role is ideal for individuals committed to supporting recovery journeys through peer engagement, crisis management, and behavioral health expertise. Candidates should possess a genuine desire to help others achieve stability and well-being while demonstrating professionalism and confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications

  • Must be a Certified Peer Specialist, Certified Recovery Peer Advocate, Credentialed Family Peer Advocate, Certified Youth Peer Advocate or willing to attain certificate within 12 months of hire.

Pay: $19.00 - $22.50 per hour
