Job Summary
Champlain Valley Family Center is currently hiring for two full-time positions serving Saratoga, Washington and Warren Counties. A Reality Check Program Coordinator, and a Community Engagement Program Coordinator, both listed below.
Reality Check Program Coordinator – Works directly with youth ages 13–18 to build leadership skills and support youth-led advocacy efforts that challenge tobacco industry marketing and promote healthy communities.
Youth Leadership & Advocacy
- Recruit, train, and mentor youth advocates to participate in policy-focused tobacco control activities
- Facilitate youth-led campaigns addressing tobacco industry marketing practices
- Support youth participation in local, regional, and statewide trainings, events, and advocacy opportunities
- Provide safe supervision and chaperoning for youth activities and travel
Community Engagement
- Build relationships with schools, community organizations, coalitions, and local leaders
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and youth-serving agencies
- Engage elected officials, businesses, and community decision-makers in tobacco-free initiatives
- Expand community capacity to support tobacco-free environments
Education & Media Advocacy
- Deliver presentations and educational programming
- Coordinate media advocacy efforts including earned and social media
- Support youth in public speaking and community awareness campaigns
- Promote policy initiatives that reduce tobacco use and exposure
- Implement ATFC workplan activities and statewide initiatives
- Maintain communication with ATFC staff and Reality Check leadership
Program Implementation & Administration
- Assist with required reporting, data tracking, and documentation
- Follow program budgets and NYS DOH guidelines
- Participate in required meetings, trainings, and conference calls
Logistics & Support
- Coordinate and/or provide transportation and logistics for youth participation in events
- Maintain program materials and promotional items
- Attend supervision meetings and contribute to program planning
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education, public health, communications, social work, community organization, or related field OR minimum three years related experience (youth development, advocacy, health education, teaching, prevention work)
- Experience working with youth, schools, or community organizations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to organize events and manage multiple projects
- Comfort with public speaking and group facilitation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and social media platforms
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends
- Ability to pass required background check
- Must be tobacco-free (including electronic cigarettes)
- Occasional overnight travel required
Community Engagement Program Coordinator – Builds partnerships with organizations, municipalities, and community leaders to advance tobacco-free policies and strengthen community-wide prevention efforts.

Key Responsibilities
Community Partnerships & Outreach
- Build and maintain relationships with residents, community organizations, healthcare partners, and local leaders
- Engage municipalities, businesses, and decision-makers in tobacco-free initiatives
- Facilitate coalition meetings and working groups
- Represent ATFC at community events, forums, and public meetings
Policy & Systems Change
- Educate stakeholders on evidence-based tobacco-free policies
- Support adoption and implementation of policies aligned with the ATFC workplan
- Collaborate with regional and statewide tobacco control partners
- Serve as liaison between the NYS Department of Health and community partners
Media & Public Communication
- Act as spokesperson for ATFC when appropriate (radio, TV, print, online)
- Develop press releases, letters to the editor, and media outreach
- Manage social media and awareness campaigns
- Support earned and paid media strategies
Program Implementation
- Coordinate ATFC initiatives and grant deliverables
- Collaborate closely with the Reality Check Program Coordinator
- Participate in required trainings, meetings, and committees
- Track activities and maintain documentation for reporting
Organizational Collaboration
- Meet regularly with the ATFC Program Director for supervision and planning
- Participate in CVFC and NYS DOH trainings and meetings
- Assist with statewide and regional initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, education, communications, social sciences, community organization, or related field OR minimum three years related experience (community outreach, advocacy, prevention, coalition work)
- Experience working with community organizations or coalitions
- Strong facilitation and public speaking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects independently
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and social media platforms
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends
- Ability to pass required background check
- Must be tobacco-free (including electronic cigarettes)

Pay: $51,000.00 - $54,000.00 per year
